To enhance professional competence, practical career skills, and a spirit of community service, nursing students from the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy at Van Hien University participated in an advanced community healthcare internship at the Binh Hung Medical Station.
During the internship, under the guidance of the local medica lstaff, the students directly participated in various primary healthcare activities, including:
Supporting the implementation of the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI), instructing and monitoring residents before, during, and after vaccination.
Participating in routine health check-ups for the elderly, measuring basic vital signs, and assisting with health counseling and disease prevention.

Supporting the Vitamin A supplementation program for children, contributing to improving health and preventing diseases caused by micronutrient deficiencies.
Visiting residential areas and directly engaging with local people to gather health data, conduct health education campaigns, and understand local community health issues.

Practicing and instructing basic first aid, helping to raise community awareness and skills in handling common emergency situations.
Through this internship, students not only consolidated their professional knowledge but also honed their communication, teamwork, and practical problem-solving skills, while developing a strong sense of responsibility toward public health.
The internship at Binh Hung Medical Station is a valuable opportunity for nursing students to access a real-world working environment and better understand the role of nursing in primary healthcare and preventive medicine. This is also an essential preparation step to help them confidently become highly competent, ethically sound nurses who are ready to serve the community in the future.
